Easter Items

I have two Easter goodies in my TpT store starting today!

One is a class favorite. Last year we had a day dedicated to all things Jelly Beans!! It was SO fun. Then at the end I sent home baggies of Jelly Beans for them to enjoy with their families!

Here's a newbie! Every student gets a card which they should not show to anyone else. One student starts and say “I have…” and names the large image on the card.  Then that students should say “who has...” and describes the image on the card. This is important because there are more than one bunny, bird, flower, tree, etc. in the set! If they dont describe it well, they would be potentially describing many cards! The next student would then say “I have… who has…” The game continues until all the cards have been played!

Feeling Thankful

Snow Day Chelsea Here, feeling pretty reflective at the moment. I spent the beginning part of my day waking up to a Snow Day call! Always fun! So, after sleeping in a little later than normal, I woke up and got started with my relaxing day. I worked on a Common Core Aligned TpT pack that I can't wait to finish and post, then made some lunch. Then my Dad came over to plow my driveway (I've been shoveling the past few snow storms so it was nice to have a break!) The boyfriend helped..Thanks Dad and Kevin!! But, what's making me feel particularly reflective is this speech that I'm writing. Rider University recently asked me to be a speaker at their Admitted Students Day in April. My days spent at Rider were some of my best! I thought when I graduated that I'd feel sad or "college-sick" but honestly it's the opposite. I have done A LOT with my life in these three short years. I've taught in four different job placements (going on my fifth, sort of), switched classrooms three times, become a tutor, went from a TpT buyer to a TpT Seller, made a blog, facebook, and instagram, and i'm in the middle of apply to grad school at Rider-- all in three short years! As I write all this in my speech, I am feeling particularly proud and happy about where I am in my life, many thanks to where I went to college. This is my second time speaking at a Rider Event (See pic below from four years ago!) and I am even more excited about this upcoming one. Life is good :)

Dr. Seuss Freebie!

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

Dr. Suess week is a favorite of mine. And one of my favorite activities to do with my kindergarten nuggets making and experimenting with oobleck! I love it! My co-teacher hates it!  {last year she spilled it all over herself so she's no longer an oobleck fan! ha} But in all seriousness, I feel whenever I can tie in kinistetic learning, it sticks with the kids a lot longer. I remember last year when I did our oobleck experiment, I got an email from a mom that weekend saying that her daughter and her had had so much fun making oobleck at home in all sorts of different colors (how cool!!!)! PLUS: it hits so many common core standards!
